Why Philippines Buying Brahmos From India?

Why Philippines buying Brahmos From India?

A simple Answer to this question is that "The Philippines Wants to send Clear and Strong to China to guard himself against the Chinese aggression in the South China Sea".

On Jan 28, the Ministry of Defence stated that " Brahmos Aerospace Private Limited {BAPL} signed a contract with the Department of National Defence of the Republic of Philippines for the supply of Shore-Based Anti-ship Missile System to the Philippines".

The Total cost of the Brahmos deal between India and the Philippines is $375 million {Nearly 2770 crore}.

What is Bramhos Missile?

Brahmos is one of the fastest supersonic missiles in the world. Brahmos is a ramjet supersonic medium-range cruise missile that can be launched from Submarine, Ships, Land, And Aircraft. It is developed by Brahmos Aerospace Limited which is a joint venture of India {Defence Research and Development Organisation} and Russia {NPO Mashinostroyeniya}. The missile got its name after the name of two rivers, The Brahmaputra in India and The Moskva in Russia.

Brahmos is the World's Fastest Anti-Ship Cruise Missile in World, Brahmos can travel at the speed of Mach 2.8 to Mach 3.0. With the speed of Mach 3, it has a flight range of 290km.

Brahmos is four times faster than the American Tomhawk missile.

The Supersonic missile is capable of carrying warheads of up to 300 kg for a range of 290km.

One more interesting about Brahmos is that India and Russia both intend to make 2000 Brahmos supersonic cruise missiles in the next 10 years.

NOW THE QUESTION THAT ARISES HERE IS WHY THE PHILIPPINES NEED BRAHMOS?

The Philippines will deploy the Brahmos Shore-based anti-ship missile against the Chinese aggression against any attempt to undermine our sovereignty and sovereignty rights of the country.

China is claiming the whole south china sea, and china continuously bullying the countries of south china. Even many times open fire to the fisherman boat in the south china sea. To counter this aggression and to protect the maritime boundaries of the country, the Philippines purchased  Brahmos Shore-based anti-ship missile from India.

Some reports are coming that after this deal Philippines Army is also going to place the order for Brahmos by 2023.
